PABITIN II: IN BLOOM

Invited by the Filipino Jaycees of Honolulu, Louella Aquino designs Pabitin I: My Body is Full of Hopes and Dreams, an art project and exhibition, and shares Pabitin II: IN BLOOM. With bamboo harvested by Louella in Waiʻāhole, Pabitin II takes the wishes, dreams, and thoughts from the Filipino Jaycees General Membership meeting earlier in the year and combines them with Filipino tree foods to show what it looks like to be in bloom. Pabitin II: In Bloom was shared at the Filipino Jaycees of Honolulu conference at Leeward Community College on October 7, 2023 and allowed Conference participants to taste a sample of Filipino tree foods and see different seeds while a short film of Louella Aquino and Zach Angeles reading Journey for Justice: The Life of Larry Itliong (written by Dawn Bohulano Mabalon and Gayle Romasanta) played in the background.
