albizia removal team
A.R.T. (aka the Albizia Removal Team) is a hands-on environmental project that treats the act of removal as an art form. It involves the physical labor of removing invasive species and transforms that process into a collaborative artwork, emphasizing the concept of erasure as both environmental restoration and artistic expression.
step 1
We identify invasive albizia, map them, and trek out to the site
step 2
We use hatchets, machetes, and hand saws to girdle the trees.
step 3 (not always required)
IPA, short for Incision Point Application, is administering a dose of herbicide into the vascular system of the tree.
