About

The Hawaii Residency Program (HRP) invited Louella to design an art workshop and art installation for the Hawaii Residency Programʻs office. Louella designed the color palette and created two custom blended hues while weaving creative instructions and reflective prompts to guide workshop participants to complete their individual canvases. The art workshop was self-facilitated by HRP in August 2023. Participants returned their canvases at the end of the workshop and Louella designed, assembled, and installed the final installation in the office. The final installation in the HRP office features a protect plexiglass layer that features the pilinahā symbol originally drawn by Dr. Puni Jackson.
